Founded in the Spring of 2010, Baltimore Green Currency Association is working to create an alternative economy that will strengthen local business, create jobs, encourage the formation of local supply chains, and ultimately provide economic opportunity and increased resilience to communities underserved by traditional economic structures.In April 2011 we launched a local, complementary currency for Baltimore, the BNote. BNotes are real local money that can be used at any business or with any individual in the city who chooses to accept them.
BNotes work to:
* Strengthen our local economy
* Keep money in our community, working for us instead of big banks or corporations
* Support small, independent merchants in our city
* Build community self-reliance and resilience
